Here are a couple of photo's of some print and embroidery from my minor project before Christmas. The lighting in the studio wasn't good and I took them on my trusty Sony Ericsson mobile phone camera. I really enjoyed developing my drawings into these designs and seeing them through into print. I loved working with the silks and had some fab results with illuminated discharge. My Minor Project has given me loads of confidence to develop my ideas and skills further for my Final Major Project :) and my dissertation is finished and handed in!

Birthday Gift!

I love the items from Sumptuosity look at their web site http://www.sumptuosity.net/
Was surprised by the Cupcake Bookmark as the Cupcakes look very like the one held by the girl in my greetings cards I sold at the Harrogate Knitting & Stitching show last year :/

Mimi the Mini snow lady

It just wouldn't have felt right to let this snow pass and not have built a snowman, lol. The snow here has been beautiful, it's really soft and powdery. There's icicles to, a little bush between me and my neighbour is frozen solid. I've tried to take some photos to show the depth of the snow but they just don't do it justice. My little mobile phone camera has been brilliant for quick snaps but landscapes aren't that good. My mum & dad are out in the Breacon Beacons today and both have Canons so I'm really looking forward to seeing their photos!

Motivate!!!

Most of Britain is covered in a blanket of snow the greatest snowfall 30 years! Travel chaos ensued and the news advises not to travel unless essential! Well after having a really chilled out Christmas and New Year it's hard enough to gear back up to the pace I was working at before Christmas and the snowy weather doesn't exactly encourage me out and about... But Cabin Fever is developing, lol. So popped out, on foot, to buy a Sketchbook. I've got a good idea about my concept for my Final Major Project and I'm keen to get sketching, college is closed so need to take advantage of the time at home with no distraction but maybe a few phone calls. Project brief needs to be written up and the dissertation finishing. Going to batten down the hatches and keep warm!!!

It's Cold Outside!

Snowy weather has covered the country and with travel disruptions I'm staying in and keeping warm at home. The Christmas holidays have been so relaxing being away in France was so different to spending it here in England. We didn't have any telly and it was lovely to have some quality time with family! Now I've just got to gear myself back up and finish the dissertation... but I'm so chilled out :/
